The City Council awarded a $2 million contract to All American Asphalt of Corona in May. Construction began in June and is expected to end in August. Work takes place at night, from 7 p.m. to 4 a.m.

Another step in the development of Whittier’s new 73-acre residential and commercial project known as the Groves is underway with the widening of Whittier Boulevard from Sorensen Avenue to a frontage road just past Philadelphia Street. The $2 million contract went to All American Asphalt of Corona.
